The Facts From an Invisalign® Dentist

Invisalign® DentistAs an Invisalign® dentist, we know that a low percentage of adults have aligned front teeth. We wonder why this number is so low when Invisalign® makes it so easy to achieve a straight and beautiful smile in a short time span. If you are considering straightening your teeth, we encourage you to do so. Straightening methods like Invisalign® are now easier and more effective than ever before.

Invisalign® Cost

On average, Invisalign® costs around $5,000 for the full treatment plan and all the aligners. A patient's dental insurance company may also contribute $500-$1,500 toward the cause of straightening a patient's teeth. Insurance companies are interested in helping out because they know straighter teeth lead to healthier teeth. When the teeth are straighter, it is easier to access every area around each tooth for optimal cleaning and plaque removal, which limits bacteria growth and decay.

Invisalign® Treatment Length

A treatment period from an Invisalign® dentist will only take one year to complete. Traditional braces treatments last from 18 months to two years on average, making Invisalign® a faster route to permanently straight teeth. This time frame is only possible if patients wear their aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day per instruction. For a faster route to more beautiful teeth, only remove the Invisalign® aligners to eat, brush and floss the teeth.

Invisalign® Care

With Invisalign®, it is incredibly easy to keep teeth clean and to keep aligners clean. Patients can learn more about the Invisalign® Cleaning System from our Invisalign® dentist office when they visit. If patients are not interested in using the cleaning system, all they need to do is gently cleanse the aligner with a toothbrush and lukewarm water whenever they remove it to brush their teeth.

Make sure to avoid using toothpaste on the aligner, as it could damage the clear plastic. With traditional braces, it is harder to keep the teeth free of decay during straightening due to the many wires and brackets that get in the way of brushing and flossing. With Invisalign®, the patient never has to worry about decay, because he or she can easily access all areas of the teeth and gums by removing the aligner to brush and floss thoroughly.

Invisalign® Invisible Appearance

Unlike traditional wire braces that are unsightly in appearance and distract from an attractive face, Invisalign® uses clear aligners that appear invisible when placed on your teeth. When you go out in public, you do not have to feel self-conscious about your looks, because no one will even notice you are wearing your aligners. You can even remove your aligners briefly for special occasions like a wedding day, but make sure you get the go-ahead from your Invisalign® dentist first.

This is a brief list of the beneficial facts about Invisalign® from an Invisalign® dentist. For more information about the advantages of Invisalign®, visit or call our office at (817) 885-5214.
